Cosmetic Formulation Intern
Anomera manufactures carboxylated Cellulose Nanocrystals (CNC) in a patented eco- friendly process that delivers a superior nanomaterial. We use renewable raw materials sustainably harvested from Canadian Forests to create a high purity advanced material for both industrial and cosmetic applications. The Carboxylated Cellulose Nanocrystals are converted into a micron sized powder, using a green process, to create new biodegradable and sustainable ingredients for the beauty industries. The Anomera team is fast growing and on its way to changing the future of multiple industries, including concrete, paint coatings & pigments, agriculture, as well as human wellness in pharma and life sciences.
Description Overview:
The Cosmetic Formulation Intern will mainly conduct formulation stability testing of Anomera's cellulose cosmetic powders to participate in the implementation of specifications for the quality control of our new ingredients. He/She will also assist in compatibility testing, benefits testing and provide feedback to R&D on new product developments.Key Responsibilities:
- Test our new ingredients in different chassis of known formulas (Skin care / Make up)
- Conduct quality control tests in accordance with established protocols: pH, viscosity, stability at different temperatures…overtime
- Conduct benefit control tests: soft focus, colour intensity…
- Participate in the formulation of new products using our ingredients
- Communicate with the Applications team about ingredient performance in formulation tests
- Create and maintain documentation of new ingredients (i.e., specifications, technical test methods/data, etc.)
- Assist in maintenance of laboratory equipment, keep a clean and tidy work area
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Cosmetic Applications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in chemistry-Cosmetic Science (Minimum 1st cycle)
- Laboratory experience (an asset)
- Intermediate English (written/spoken) and basic French (spoken)
